It’s hard to imagine that the last post I made here was in April. I guess it goes to show how fast time flies these days. I can’t believe 2025 is almost gone but I’m also looking forward to things slowing down as they always do for the next couple of weeks. We had ambitious plans for 2025 and while I can’t say we hit all of our goals with the farm this year – looking back I’m proud of the work we did accomplish.

We had our best year yet with maple syrup production. We produced over 200 10oz bottles of syrup which means we harvested and processed close to 700 gallons of sap. We really enjoy the process so have started planning for a dedicated sugar shack and a larger evaporator. This will allow us to increase production.

We planted the first vineyard at the farm and got to see the vines take off…

We grafted over 150 apple trees and of those about 120 seem to have survived into the summer.

We had a tremendous garlic yield! This inspired us to plant even more garlic this past fall, with plans to sell culinary and seed garlic.

We continued our experiments with making hard apple cider. I’m planning on bottling the next batch right after New Year’s and we’re already talking about how to scale this up once the trees we’ve planted have started producing more fruit.

I’m planning on using the downtime we have this time of year to get caught up on more dedicated posts about the things we accomplished in 2025. Expect more posts on the vineyard, maple syrup, apple trees, and garlic coming up here soon! For now – enjoy a couple of my favorite pictures from this year that I took at the farm. Wishing you and your families a happy holiday season and New Year!
